Awesome Poem by Shiri ….. On My Birthday !!


Bossing me around - with a weight successfully preserved under fifty,
And that too along with being extra talented, energetic and nifty!
The most literate of all till date, the only PhD holder of our generation..
Her utmost will and diligence has dashingly made her achieve this aberration!

My life wouldn't have been so amazing, without her being always around,
Whenever I unknowingly got arrogant, she slammed me to the ground,
And at times when I got extremely depressed, she simply made me realize,
How she and all are envious of me, and sent me right back to the skies!

Every other month, we used to join a brand new dance or music course,
If one of us got lethargic, the other one used to apply the force,
Every now and then, we had our power filled dance sessions,
She has been a gem of a motivator, be it swimming, dancing or guitar lessons!

Shallz has been my alter ego, the best friend I ever have had,
The most precious gift ever received from our awesome mom and dad,
Out of us four siblings, she has been gifted with divine wisdom and wit,
Although we keep competing, but she has a better humor - I admit.

She has been across the seven seas, for over two years from now,
And I know from deep inside, there too, she has made her life a wow,
Celebrating thirty one years of bliss of my terrific US settled sister,
May her life be so stunning, that she is forever surrounded by whistlers!!!

Seven Modes Interpreted With Indian Ragas/Thaats

We are pretty familiar with the seven basic modes or scales in western music theory, which are considered useful in composing music. Pentatonic Ragas OR औडव जाति राग (Audav-Jaati Ragas)

As the name signifies, pentatonic ragas are the ragas having the five-notes syllables in particular. In Hindustani music, there are primary three Jaati : Audav (Ragas having only 5 notes in ascend and descend both) , Shaadav (Ragas having 6 notes), Sampoorna (Ragas having all 7 notes); and nine sub-categories with all possible combinations of these three categories, like Audav-Audav (Having 5-5 notes in ascending and descending series both), Audav-Shadav ( 5 notes in ascending and 6 while descend), Audav-Sampoorna (5 notes while Ascend and all 7 while descend ) etc.. Pentatonic ragas are called Audav Jaati Raga (औडव जाति के राग).  There are many ragas, which are created only by selecting five notes, omitting any two, which are mesmerizing and extraordinary. Kinds Of Bhairava - Morning Raga

Bhairava (भैरव) is one of the most important and fundamental ragas in Indian Classical Music is one of the ten thaats. Thaats are the ten basic ragas and modern raga-classification system, which is considered as the origin and classification of numerous ragas sung/played today. In fact, beginners are not recommended to head towards more advanced ones without mastering Bhairava .  Second and sixth flatted provides dull, serious, but at the same time soothing and refreshing essence to the listeners.  Bhairava is a morning raga, which is ideally sung or played between 4 am to 7 am.
